Ross,
Sorry for the delay...did not see that you had written. Thanks a lot! That is the 2nd Overall win this year...hope they keep coming. Race again this weekend at the Camp Pendleton Sprint so will see how it goes. Erik just got back from a USAT Camp in Monteray and all the kids were coming to Colo Springs for the race. We are not going to make it this year. Seems like we have been on the road all summer! How are you and racing?

You all remember watching John Blais – “Blazeman” - from Ironman Hawaii on NBC. In 2005, he became the first person with ALS to finish an Ironman. As Blazeman rolled across the finish line in Kona, he challenged all endurance athletes to help find a cure for ALS. I knew in my heart I wanted to volunteer for the 2009 Cycle for ALS Indoor Ride-a-thon. REI has teamed up with The Blazeman Foundation for ALS at various stores nationwide and will host the March 7, 2009 event at the REI Flagship store in beautiful downtown Denver. For just $25 start the New Year knowing you’re making a difference with an awesome indoor cycling workout to support ALS research. I’m a huge believer in “passing it on” and I hope you join me and Lisa Decker in this event!

I would like to thank Denver REI, GTRI for their support of the event.

Cycle for ALS Indoor Ride-a-thon is from 11am-3pm on March 7th and you can ride as little or as long as you would like. If you want to kick start your 2009 cycling training – I promise you a long ride you’ll never forget! (Please bring your trainer/bike). This will be a high energy, feel good event that you won’t want to miss!!

I expect the event to sell out so if you’re interested – reserve your spot now on - http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1671596&assetId=efc2abbd-be2a-46dc-95cf-16d3ab130328

Or

www.active.com – search on Cycle for ALS Denver

If you don’t feel like cycling but want to volunteer – email us at:

rmullen@gtri.com or ldecker@lucasgroup.com

There will be Spin Instructors, great videos, music, and fun…

*The event is only $25. You have the option to donate more, become a fundraiser or just ride to help raise awareness to battle this deadly disease. Go to http://www.active.com/donate/SpinForALS/denverREI for more information.

Please feel free to forward this email and pass it on….

Sincerely,

Ray and Lisa

Incline

Last week my 4 year old son and 9 year old daughter did the incline. It was my sons frst time and he made it to the top all by himself (me standing behind him) in 1:29:03. It amazes me he can stay focused for this stuff at his age! I just told him the biggest sticks were at the top and he kept climbing. My daughter went ahead and was waitingquite awhile for us. We all three ran down the bar trail together in 2:38:04.

This morning I went by myself and knocked 3:31 seconds off my first time a few… Continue

What a race!

I finished the Harvest Moon Long course in 5:58:34. Even though I was aiming at going sub 5:30:00. I gave it everything I had and was really happy with the end result. I had a little trouble at first swimming straight and kept winding up Left of the buoys. Eventually I figured out that the buoys were angled to the right of the shoreline and I kept swimming straight later realizing thats why I was going over the top of some people. I figured it out about 3/4 of the way and finished off strong and… Continue

Harvestmoon Tomorrow 9/14/08

I am really excited for tomorrows race. Even though it was kind of last minute to do the race. I feel good. I took some time off after IM CDA and didnt do much volume. I needed to get the leg healthy and I started feeling 100% about a month ago so after a month of consistent training im ready. Mentally I feel great knowing im healthy and confident in my fitness after all the IM training. In a perfect world I would of liked to have had more volume of bike and run going into this race but im just… Continue
