Ross,
I want to talk to you about the Jon Blais foundation and possibly seeing if you would be willing for us to do our Spin a thon at your facility. Please give me a call when you find some time. 303.241.9120 and we can chat. I bet you are ready for IMAZ. I watched the championships in Kona the other day and I am jonesing for a race. See you soon my friend,
Ray
Ross,
Sorry for the delay...did not see that you had written. Thanks a lot! That is the 2nd Overall win this year...hope they keep coming. Race again this weekend at the Camp Pendleton Sprint so will see how it goes. Erik just got back from a USAT Camp in Monteray and all the kids were coming to Colo Springs for the race. We are not going to make it this year. Seems like we have been on the road all summer! How are you and racing?
Congratulations on the little one! That is great, please give Jo my best.
The shoulder is doing a lot better, have raced twice on it and have another coming up in a week....we will see how it goes.
I hope to see you at the ALS event coming up soon. I think you said you were planning on coming. I am attaching the information again in case you need it.
I look forward to meeting you.
Ray

You all remember watching John Blais – “Blazeman” - from Ironman Hawaii on NBC. In 2005, he became the first person with ALS to finish an Ironman. As Blazeman rolled across the finish line in Kona, he challenged all endurance athletes to help find a cure for ALS. I knew in my heart I wanted to volunteer for the 2009 Cycle for ALS Indoor Ride-a-thon. REI has teamed up with The Blazeman Foundation for ALS at various stores nationwide and will host the March 7, 2009 event at the REI Flagship store in beautiful downtown Denver. For just $25 start the New Year knowing you’re making a difference with an awesome indoor cycling workout to support ALS research. I’m a huge believer in “passing it on” and I hope you join me and Lisa Decker in this event!
I would like to thank Denver REI, GTRI for their support of the event.
Cycle for ALS Indoor Ride-a-thon is from 11am-3pm on March 7th and you can ride as little or as long as you would like. If you want to kick start your 2009 cycling training – I promise you a long ride you’ll never forget! (Please bring your trainer/bike). This will be a high energy, feel good event that you won’t want to miss!!
I expect the event to sell out so if you’re interested – reserve your spot now on - http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1671596&assetId=efc2abbd-be2a-46dc-95cf-16d3ab130328

How you doing? Currently not training but running 10 to 15 mile a day. I'm a Marine so my time is really limited right now. I like to run and going crazy with new stuff. Iron Man is in my future.
Thats sweet... I think im gonna be down there for that one too with the Kirkhams. I am just gonna do some sprints until the summer just to try and get faster then im doing the 5430 series and the Harvest Moon half... Its gonna be crazy because it is going to two halfs within a month almost, but thats alright. I am hopeing to go sub 5 in one and break 5 in the other because I have been working my run like a beast so I think I can do it. Hows your trainning comming?
Happy Thanksgiving! The appreciation is certainly mutual. I'm thankful for all athletes who encourage and edify the community, and for the many blessings God bestows us all. Thank you!
Ross,
Thanks for the voice mail words of encouragement. I loved the whole experience and am totally slammed that you stayed up to watch me and you haven't even met me. It truly was an awesome experience I will cherish for all my life. I felt a blast of emotion seeing the end of all my training and had a finish i had dreamt of many many times. I will call you soon, really would love to catch a beer with you.
Probably do spin in the morning and follow that up with weights. My knee is getting worse instead of better so I need to give it a rest. I will just stick to the pool and bike for a while and hope for the best. We are starting at 5 and go to 7 or 7:15.
